datacapture.cfg for metadata

datacapture.cfg for metadata is located at "iw-home/local/config". Is this only datacapture.cfg that applies to all DCRs of different data-types ? OR can we have different datacapture.cfg (for metadata) for different data-types ?

If this is the only data-type, then I don't see many metadata options , when I try to tag a DCR. At the same time many options available in tagging DCR are not visible in datacapture.cfg. How is this possible ? I don't see any other datacapture.cfg (for metadata) in "iw-home/local/config"

Can the path for datacapture.cfg (for metadata), be somewhere else ? How can I find it ?

I think you need to read some documentation. You're confusing FormsPublisher and the TagUI. Both of these interfaces are configured using (different) datacapture.cfg files. The one you're talking about is used for the TagUI, which is why you'd never see any changes reflected in FormsPub forms.

To take @rpoulin's response a bit further, there are potentially three different things in play here:

FormsPublisher DCTs - which are the datacapture.cfg files located within the content branches within the templatedata/category/datatype/ folders - which control the fields you see when editing a DCR
Old metadata tagging - which is the IWHOME/local/config/datacapture.cfg file that works in conjunction with the IWHOME/local/config/metadata-rules.cfg file to control the fields you see when tagging files. This datacapture.cfg file does not support FormAPI.
New TagUI metadata tagging - controlled by arbitrarily named IWHOME/local/config/tagui/ruleset60/*.cfg files that also work in conjunction with the IWHOME/local/config/metadata-rules.cfg file. These [datacapture].cfg files do support FormAPI.
