New to LSCS and LSDS

Hello everyone...

We are in the beginning phases of upgrading our TS 6.7 to TS 7.2 ( i believe) and integrating LSCS and LSDS.. along with IDOL.

Would anyone be able to share a logical map of how the interaction between the TS servers, and LS servers, and Open Deploy receivers...etc..etc..

We are having a little trouble establishing a clear diagram, or logical map of how the system communicates.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You should see if you can get the local sales critter to give a whiteboard of how things work together.

In a nutshell, TS is always behind the firewall, but LSDS & LSCS are on both sides of the firewall (for preview and production viewing), just as an application server is. Each LSCS/LSDS node will be a deployment target (whether the content is file based or DB).

there are few good webcasts on here explaining how those components fit in typical WCM architecture. there are few diagrams in the documentations of the product itself. but why upgrade to 7.2 and not 7.3.1? a lot of nice things and resolved issues in 7.3.x over 7.2
