TS 7.3.1 Support for iwov_xslt tag

I have a template that uses the iwov_xslt tag.

When I try to regenerate it fails with the following error.



iwov_xslt error:

sh: /Interwoven/TeamSite/bin/XalanTransform: not found

Has this tag been deprecated? Is there a known remedy for this?

hmmm. I'm on Solaris 10.

So I've had a look at the iwov_xslt tag lib and basically this "/Interwoven/TeamSite/bin/XalanTransform" is being called by iwperl using a tmp XML file a tmp XSL file and outputting the result to a tmp file then getting the content of that file and injecting it into the results file for templating...or something to that effect.

I've created a java utility that basically does the same thing that the old code was doing I think (its compiled) and modified the iwov_xslt tag to use it instead which seems to solve the issue.

I chose to use java because it has all the XSLT libs I need javax.xml etc.. however the parser complained about things the old iwov_xslt parser did not complain about which I have since resolved in the XSLT code.

In the perl code I had issues with the class path but was able to resolve that as well and can now regenerate pages that use this template from the UI as well as the command line using iwgen and iwregen etc...

Hope this helps anyone who may face similar issues in their 7.3.1 upgrade....

Out of curiosity, did you consider just changing the entire PT from TPL to XSLT - and thus avoid the iwov_xslt tag altogether?

Yes and I'm well versed in XSLT. Only portions of the template were done using iwov_xslt and other parts were done using perl, and custom perl libs that I was not sure I could tap into if completely switched. Long story short it looked like a can of worms and I decided and I decided not to rewrite the old template and just get the legacy code to work.
