In Solaris, Opendeploy we have logged in as root.
When we go to User Access>Roles The system Role screen appears. When we look-up user and try to add it gives permission denied error . What are the permission settings required for the root to perform this operation.

I had this same problem. I think you need to be an admin on the local machine and an OD Admin user. Usually this is the bootstrap user id you created when you installed the base server.

Thanks for ur reply. But since this is on solaris machine, the bootstrap user is by default, root only. If i open the od-admin.uid file, im able to add the user, but fails for adding the user through the opendeploy user-interface. Please Reply.
