How to call livesite beans in customer-resource-config.xml

We are trying to extend "com.interwoven.livesite.workflow.web.task.DependencyWebTask" and when we are calling "attachDependencies" method it is expecting these property beans

So what is the complete path to call these beans in cutomer-resource-config.xml

$iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/livesite_customer_src/etc/conf/livesite_customer/resources/customer-resource-config.xml

we are using Teamsite 7.3

You should only extend a bean definition if your implementation class is a subclass of the parent bean. Otherwise, define a whole new bean (with a different ID) and tell configure your workflow task to call the new TaskBeanId.

If you do choose to subclass the existing bean, then your declaration should look like this:

<bean id="customer.workflow.task.DependencyTask"
      class="com.mycompany.MyDependencyTask"
      parent="workflow.task.DependencyTask" />

I tried like below but build is failing

but it it is throwing below error

Caused by: org.springframework.beans.factory.NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No bean named 'workflow.task.DependencyTask' is defined

please let me know what i am missing here

Compare my example with yours. Are you extending the class or are you not? Because you're mixing parts of both in your XML. Also, the ".java" extension shouldn't be there. Also also, these should be in customer-teamsite-resource-config.xml if you want to avoid errors on the runtime.

Please get yourself some Java Spring training if you're going to be working with this product for a while.

".java" in my post was typo mistake and i did exactly what you told

in java

public class CustomDependency extends DependencyWebTask implements CSURLExternalTask{ }.

You mentioned these entries should be in teamsite-resource-config.xml, would you please tell the flow between workflow-resource-config.xml,customer-resource-config.xml and teamsite-resource-config.xml or if you have any documentation mentioning usage of all the three files please share with me.

Eh, whatever. Close enough. Just realize that with this XML, you'll need to change the TaskBeanId in your workflow task. You're not replacing the original bean; you're creating a new one based on the original.

Spring configuration files are loaded and resolved as a sort of atomic operation, so the files you mentioned are all read+interpreted "at the same time".

My comment about the right file to use is to distinguish the following, because they are copied to different places, and thus affect the Spring context of different applications:

* customer-teamsite-resource-config.xml is only copied to iw-cc.war (teamsite)

* customer-runtime-resource-config.xml is only copied to iw-preview.war (sitepub preview) and the LSDS runtime

* customer-preview-resource-config.xml is only copied to iw-preview.war (sitepub preview)

* customer-resource-config.xml is copied to all three (teamsite, sitepub preview, runtime)

Here, you're defining a bean that is only used in workflow (teamsite), which is why it should only be defined in the first file in the above list.

Does this mean,, if we want to extend any OOTB functionality, the new bean definition should be in customer-teamsite-resource-config.xml ??
