If you want info on general stored procedure:
Refer to your DBMS vendor manual, they should have examples on how to write Stored procedures

If you want to use SP wrt DataDeploy refer to the section on executing stored procedures in DD Admin

in DD Admin manual. DD does not execute a Stored procedure transactionally during a deployment, you can only execute the stored procedure explicitly just like executing any arbitrary SQL queries.

If you are using DataDeploy 5.6, please note that new Admin Guide and Release Notes docs were released within the past few weeks. They can be downloaded from the support site. The new docs have a date on the copyright page of April 2003.

Additional question
as i guess the call to the stored procedure ( and also sql queries ) seem to be initiated during the deployment ( not after or before ..?) so what happens if deployment fails ..?also what happens if the sql query fails ....can we have any interaction between the sql query ( in my case a call to a stored procedure ) and the deployment ..?
