Want to re do iwaccessmigrate after upgradation

We have upgraded from TS 6.5 SP3 to TS7.2.1. All the groups and role migration was done properly and working fine.

Now suddenly observed that when click on Configuration we get message - There are no roles set on this branch.

Is it fine if I re do iwaccessmigrate on the server again? Do I need to perform any steps before executing it?

I seem to recall that you need a file present (or not present) in the backing store in order to run the iwaccessmigrate utility. I believe it's documented in a KB on the Support site (if not in one of the manuals)

Will it help? Maybe.

Is this a one-server upgrade - or did you do a fresh installation on a second server in order to "upgrade" and are migrating content and users and such from one server to another?

It is a One server upgrade. We performed 2 Step upgradatation. TS 6.5 to TS 6.7.2 and TS 6.7.2 to TS 7.2.1.

Hi Jayant,

The below instructions apply if you are trying to run iwaccessmigrate command a second time on a Solaris server.

These steps are specified below:
$ iwaccessmigrate -c

stop TeamSite after running the above command.

$ touch `iwgetstore`/TSMigrateAccess // This is the sentinel file that got cleared after the first migration was done.

start TeamSite after running the above command

$ iwaccessmigrate -m
$ iwaccessmigrate -f
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Below are the instructions for running iwaccessmigrate a second time on a Windows server.

1. Shut down Teamsite
2.Run iwusermigrate this will generate the latest tsusers.xml file
3. Start Teamsite
4. Run iwaccessmigrate -c
5. Create a file named TSMigrateAccess on the root of iw-store
6. Restart the server
7.Run iwaccessmigrate -m -n
8. Run iwaccessmigrate -f

It is possible to run iwaccessmigrate command more than once. However, if you have followed the manifest approach, then you do not have to run that again.
Note: You can run iwaccessmigrate with an -n option if you are not using TeamSite groups.
