Hi,

We are using Teamsite 7.1 with LiveSite 7.1 on Solaris 10.

In the component, when we link a page using Page_link[] option there is a question mark "?" gets added at the end of URL, how can we get rid of that?

This is causing issue with SEO, as same page is accessed through .page? and .page. This becomes duplicate.

You can't remove it in your current version (at least, not without hacking the code). I believe it was made Spring-configurable as of 7.3.x, but I don't think that little tidbit is recorded in the documentation.

You might be able to remove it with JavaScript.

Try something like this: (non-jquery solution, jquery would be easier)

var links = document.getElementsByTagname("a");
for (var i = 0; i < links.length; i++)
links.href = links.href.replace(/\.page\?$/,'.page');

I just typed this in here - so I have not attempted to run it. You probably would need to tweak it to get it exactly right

Sorry, I should have specified there's no supported fix in your current version.. If SEO is your main problem, Javascript won't help you much. What you could do (unsupported) is extend the request context to override the getPageLink() function. However, if your main concern is solving the SEO issue, you should look into canonical links to help (modern) search engines do the deduplication.

Also, if the search engine in question is your own organization's, it may be easier to look into configuring that engine to ignore trailing question marks.
