Why doesn't autonomy run iwfsshrink automatically, as part of the normal operations of the iwserver process?

Something like, "if load is low and I have done so in the last 24 hours, let's make life for my administrator easy and run iwfsshrink".

It would be nice, but on the other hand you'd be likely to find customers who don't want the vendor making a choice of when to run background processes - and a number of customer don't trust that iwfsshrink wont cause backing store corruption (I don't believe it will, but it's sometimes difficult to convince customers of that) -- so it's better to do what TeamSite was originally good at - providing a framework and letting the customer [consultants] tweak it to their needs and use cron jobs to automatically run iwfsshrink on their desired schedule.
