Get Latest w/DCR
Mary
When a user checks a templated file and hits the Get Latest button the Staging version of the generated file is copied into the workarea but not the DCR. Is there any way to get both the file and DCR for templated files? I don't want to make the users manually get both.

Is there a reason why they have to select any files before doing Get Latest?
However, to answer your question - you would have to script it (either custom menu item, iwat trigger, or workflow) - such that if the item being acted upon for a Get Latest operation (iwupdate), is a generated file, use the extended attribute information to *also* select the source DCR for the same operation.

There are occasions where users have many modified files in their workarea or directory and only want to Get Latest on one file which is where the problem came up. We are looking at scripting it but I thought I'd check and see if anyone had another suggestion

By default, Get Latest will *not* overwrite files that have been modified in the current workarea - it will only sync up the other files.
If you want to forcibly update one or more modified files, throwing away the modificiations, then yes, you would need to have overwrite mode turned on *and* you would need to select the files you wanted to update - and that's where the user either has to be able to figure this out for themselves or you need to supply a custom menu item / iwat trigger script / or workflow to do the job for them (as described in brief in my previous post.
Good luck, Happy Holidays
