RIA Client Customization Return Values
Uriah
Scenario: We have a custom retrieval task in the RIA client for 7.2 that is valid only for certain asset types (e.g. must be image or video). When a user drops a file that is not the correct type onto our custom Liquid Office process, we want to detect that it is not the correct type and return some messaging other than just writing to the log.
I have it working now to detect the MBAssetType and branch properly so that the retrieval task isn't completed for inappropriate types but I can't determine how I can show that something bad happened to the user. I tried setting the assetid to a nonexistent value but this just silently fails without showing any files as failed in the activity manager. I'm looking for a way to tell the user that something bad happened.
Is that possible? Or is there some better way to ensure that only certain asset types are allowed?
