java for inlines and tpls

Hi All,

Thanks for the replies. We would like to use the java language for the inline/callouts on the DCTs and in tpl files instead of perl. Is this possible at all? If yes, can you share a sample?

Perl is a scripting language and JAVA is compiled... not sure if this is possible.

Inlines should be pretty easy. The command has to invoke the java program. Java needs to return the appropriate XML.

TPLs are more problematic. Even if you kicked off a Java program with a system call, you still have to have a way to access DCR values in Java. Of course, using XSL instead of TPL should make this easier.

Yes you can use java for inline and JSP for callout. Each time rebuild toolkit required whenever the changes happen to java file.
Instead of tpl try xsl based presentation. For the samples, search in devnet.

We have TeamSite only. Version - 7.2.1 Can we still try XSL in the tpl?

Yes it will work. Interwoven has introduced xsl based presentation template instead of tpl based presentation template in TS 6.7.2 SP2 onwards.

Sure, XSL has been supported in TeamSite since 6.7

The java files should reside as like customization files location.
iw-home/httpd/webapps/content_center/customer_src
