Accessing Component Data in Page Pre-Controllers

Hello all

Our requirement is - During runtime read one of the component's properties and setup the request context parameters for other components to use and render.

To this effect, I am trying to access Components' property values setup in the design time in the page pre-controller. Any idea how this can be done? Please let me know.

Do you have any control over the order of loading of components? I dont think so. How would you ensure that whenever a page is loading, the component having property value, is loaded first and that ways, other components can access the value from that component. I dont think it would be possible. Components are loaded on the page in random order and there is no way to control the loading order.

Rather keep that information in some external source (may be DCR) and read the value in pre-controller from that external source.

I realize that there would be no control over the sequence of component load. That is the reason I am trying to do this in the Page level pre-controller.

The data is still contained in the external dcr that is going to be referred as one of the datum of dcr type within a component in that page.

I need to know how I access that component's datum propery value during the page load. Is there an API for that?
