TeamSite 7.3.2 site pub component install failed

Hi,

I am trying to install teamsite 7.3 on RHEL6.3

site pub component is failed to install succesfully, but teamsite cc professional is installed fine.

It seems that sitepub component is trying to create some directories in read only directories /iwmnt. I am not sure what is missing here. Any insight would be great?

It's not a case of being a readonly directory, it's because something (?) munged the path being used and put the highlighted text in front of the desired path.

Not sure where to go from there - perhaps someone else can expand on this...

Hi,

If you can, disable SELINUX and then try again. You might actually want to restart the installation from scratch after disabling SELINUX first. Once everything's installed and running, you should be able to re-enable it, or at least set it to permissive.

Why is the backingstore /usr/interwoven/iwmnt?

Thanks everyone for your response. I will try disabling selinux. During installation, it prompted for mount path I have changed the mount directory from /iwmnt to /usr/Interwoven/iwmnt. So that everything related to Interwoven can be in /usr/Interwoven directory.

Well now that we have determined the path is right, know that by default, that branch/workarea is only accessible by root. What you need to do is make the workarea non-private or set iwEveryone (or a less restrictive group than nobody) as the owning group of this area, then run the build again.

During installation, it prompted for mount path I have changed the mount directory from /iwmnt to /usr/Interwoven/iwmnt. So that everything related to Interwoven can be in /usr/Interwoven directory.

FYI, folks are confused about your paths because this was a non-standard and questionable path to use. If this is a new install, I'd recommend starting over before you go too far down this path.

/iwmnt is a virtual mount, so you shouldn't have to change it for such a fickle reason. There are many things in code that assume that this path resides at the root, so even though the installer allows you to change the path, I wouldn't trust it. It also makes your code less portable, and will genuinely confuse everybody at A/I support and on devnet every time you post questions in the future Smiley Happy

In addition, if you changed this path then it's a fair assumption that you put iw-store in /usr/Interwoven/iw-store. This is less of an issue but still not something I'd recommend in production scenarios. Usually, you'd want the app at
/app/Interwoven
and the data at
/data/iw-store
because it's easier to map "app" and "data" to different drives, one which remains relatively static and the other that may grow over time. Different organizations use different folders for "app" (e.g. "opt" or even "usr"), but the data mount (whatever you choose to call it) is often distinct, and for good reason (again, for easier partition extension and for more obvious path-needs-backing-up)

Thanks everyone after disabling selinux, i was able to install sitepublisher. After succesful installation, i have re-enabled selinux then it is working fine.
