Strange Tiny MCE problems

Hi All,

Currently, i am facing some issue regarding the Tiny MCE in Teamsite.

We have two Teamsite server, i checked the product version is the same -

Version: Interwoven TeamSite 6.7.2.0
Build Number: 69626

In one TS server, the Tiny MCE works fine(inside both component and DCT) and the customization can be easily done by some configuration settings.
But in another TS server, the Tiny MCE seems can not be customization e.g. add plugins toolbar. it doesn't affect whatever changes done inside the custom_config.js

I compared the tiny mce source code (tiny_mce_src.js, tiny_mce.js) in both teamsite server, i find file size are different. That means the version of the tiny mce is different, and i don't know where to get the version.

Several questions as below, expect your advise

1. Why the tiny mce version is different in the same TeamSite version?
2. So how can we upgrade tiny mce from one version to another version? Will it be some patch files can be apply or other approach?

binary and text file sizes could be different between two servers because of embedded hostname and/or ip address information - so you need to filter that out of the equation before declaring the code to be "different".

If they are in fact different - then the question is why and/or how?

I've seen cases where someone installed a newer version of TeamSite on a new box and then blindly copied over all sorts of stuff from their old box - including overwriting some product files. This is one way that the file could be inconsistent between servers (there are others).

Can you truly verify which files are different and how they are different (beyond hostname and/or IP address information)?

I have checked the 2 tiny mce source files itself, they are different. It was not because the binary and text.

One point i missed is the look and view of the editor toolbar was also different.

I have also managed to get the version from the help toolbar inside the editor.

Basically, one is 3.1.2 which is the working fine, another one is 2.1.3 that got problem.

So is there a way to upgrade from 2.1.3 to 3.1.2?

If you have two different versions of TinyMCE on two servers that are supposedly running the same version of TeamSite - then it sounds like someone messed something up there.

I don't believe there is any provided utility for upgrading the TinyMCE within TeamSite - but you should check with Support - you might be able to just copy over a complete directory tree and be done with it - but I'd make sure I have everything backed up before doing so.
