Workareas and users report.

We need to run a report that ties CMS users to their workareas? Perhaps the report would first need to track down user groups for the workareas, then all of the user in the group. Please advise on how might obtain this information. Thanks!

You can write some perl scripting or java client class to output the data you are looking for to a file. It would be helpful for other developers to answer your questions more specifically if there is some approach/implementation already in process/drafted or what is being done so far to get it done.

I know some CLT's on top of my mind which you can use in your script, for ex: to check permissions of a branch which lists out all users and groups

/usr/Interwoven/TeamSite/bin/iwaccess permission-entries /default/main/Corporate

you can loop though the list and get users of those groups

/usr/Interwoven/TeamSite/bin/iwgroup list-users Corporate

OK, thanks, that works good. But one thing I will need to have our IT team do on the live server is to run a list of all members of each group.

Is there a single command by which they can get a list of all users and their groups, without having to manually enter each of the several thousand groups to get their members?

Just let me know, thanks. I looked through the command line guide, and not seeing the answer to that question right now.

You can ask your IT to write a small script to get the job done instead of entering manually.

Read the TeamSite Command Line Tools manual.
If you are not a developer (of any sort), find one and give them the manual to read -- or give the manual to your IT group to read (they should be able to write scripts).

If nobody there knows how to take the information in that manual and write a script to do what you're proposing - well, you need a new IT group.
