Inserting a meta tag first

Hi, I'd like to insert a meta tag to a sitepublisher generated page. I'd like this meta tag to be the first tag in the head. Does anyone know how to do this?

Well if you have a custom layout, it certainly works then. You can easily add it to anything in

com/interwoven/xsl/runtime

However it seems you are not using a custom layout.

A thought, if you can put this in a js file (so it prints out the correct HTML), you can attach it to a page or site which will go in the head. There may be easier ways to do it.

yes, we tried that. However, since this meta tag affects rendering. It needs to be read when the page first loads. However, since the javascript inserts the html into the page after a load browsers don't render the meta tag.

I might just have to use a custom page layout.

any other thoughts?

If the tag is on each page and its value doesn't change its probably easiest to create a custom layout file and hard code it.

You could use a page external to populate the page scope variable "head_injection"

$PAGE_SCOPE[head_injection]

I dont think head_injection will work here as he wants this tag to be the first meta tag in the page and page_scope always injects 'head_injection' after default meta tags.

True, if it needs to be the first meta tag, $PAGE_SCOPE[head_injection] won't work the way it's currently defined.
