Hi, Currently we are using iwextattr -l "y:\default\main\Content\WORKAREA\All\Binaries\Test\Test.doc" command to list ea values, but it is not working when file path with some German characters. Eg : iwextattr -l "y:\default\main\Content\WORKAREA\All\Binaries\Eidgenöβischen\Test.doc", is not working. It shows an error like ERROR:02006: Error locating : y:\default\main\Content\WORKAREA\All\Binaries\Eidgenöβischen\Test.docThanks in advance
Although it is unlikely to fix the problem - you should try running the command without the Y: - since the argument for iwextattr is supposed to be a vpath not a file system path. What is the locale associated with the OS of your server? It's possible that using German characters on an English OS won't work, but using German characters on a German OS might work.
yes you are dealing with special characters here. I am assuming that you will see all the special characters in CCPro UI as it should be seen, but when you come to command prompt, it will not interpret the special characters properly. One workaround is to create a script which reads the path from the CCPro UI and writes it to a file which keeps your special characters intact and then you can do iwextattr -l in this script to return you list of your extended attribs.HTH
Thanks Ghoti for replay.I tried with vpath but it is not working. We are currently using English OS.
Thanks Ghoti for replay. We can’t have the access to TeamSite server machine there for we can’t change OS language.I tried with Perl script to extract the file name and executed the CLT. But it again shows the same error. Is there any other way to access EA values for a file? Thanks in advance
/home/iwov/Interwoven/TeamSite/bin/iwextattr.exe -s "your details" vpath ...and in u r Eg : iwextattr -l "y:\default\main\Content\WORKAREA\All\Binaries\Eidgenöβischen\Test.doc"system reads it as a value/param instead of vpath. try taking out "" .not 100% sure, it will help you, but can try. Thanks
Thanks HKN1104 for the response. We have "white space" in file path there for we are using these double quotes..
I knew issue is with white spaces....double check itThanksHari
I tried with that option ,,but it is not working for me.
Give % or %20 instead of white spaces.ThanksHari
