Teamsite Search in non-global zone ?

Hi,

I have read the documentation mentioned Teamsite must be installed in Solaris 10 global zone.

What about Teamsite Search ? Can it be installed in the non-global zone ?

eg:

Global Zone - Teamsite
Zone Container A - Teamsite Search

While it should run, I expect the installer will not even start. I know LiveSite DS will not start the installation process on anything but the global zone

By this you mean the LiveSite Display Services that is from the package named "IWOVLiveSite-platform-version.iwpkg"? You've tried to install LSDS on a non-global zone before? May I know what version you tried on?

Based on what Support answered, LSDS & LSCS v7.3.1 are pure java applications and they are not required to be installed on a global zone. Just wanna make sure that this is correct and we can proceed with our server specifications.

I know it failed on 7.2.1 and we were told by support LSDS had to be installed on a global zone.

I would try it, just for grins. The installer will not get very far if it fails - Support has been wrong before, but it is also very possible they changed it between 7.2.1 and 7.3.1

What about Solaris 10 LDOM? I read in TS Release Notes saying that it's acceptable, but how about LiveSite & OpenDeploy?

Talk to support to be certain, however if TeamSite supports it then I would feel pretty confident that OpenDeploy and LiveSite would as well. OpenDeploy would really have to.

Yup, talked to Support. They said it's supported.
