TinyMCE Issue on a Mac in FireFox

All,

Some of our TeamSite users just swithed to Apple from PC. One specific issue they are facing is with tinyMCE related to the context menu (right-click menu) not being functional. The menu will display when holding a two-finger click but immediately disappears after releasing the click.

I tried applying the hack mentioned in the following thread without any luck: http://www.tinymce.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16484

Has anyone else out there figured out a way to get this to work?

I am aware that this version is not officially supported by TeamSite. It sounds like tinyMCE will finally be updated to a 4.x version with TeamSite 7.5... I was hoping there was a quick fix to get this behavior working until we do the upgrade sometime next year.

Curious. You indicated that the two-finger click flashes the menu, but you didn't indicate whether or not Control-Click works - the post you referenced seems to indicate that two-finger clicks work just fine but Control-Click does not work.

The post you referenced also includes two potential fixes - you didn't indicate which fix(es) you tried and how you coded them (since tinymce customizations in TeamSite tend to be a bit obfuscated in comparison to "standard" tinymce configurations)

You also did not indicate whether this is an issue with tinymce in FormsPublisher DCRs or SitePublisher Pages / Components (or both).

That being said, I did a little bit of an experiment for FormsPublisher DCRs (I don't have SitePublisher on my TS server), and for the benefit of those who don't have Mac's, have provided an image comparing the results I found:

Environment:

TS 7.4.0 on W2K3 SP2
MacOS X 10.10 (Yosemite)
Safari 8.0
Firefox 33.0.1

Some of the options that show up are dependent upon browser extensions (i.e.: not tinymce contextual menu items)

Note: two-finger-click with text selected on Firefox displayed a menu very similar to Safari's in the same situation, but it tended to disappear more often than not when trying to access it.

I have not tried any of the potential fixes. If you provide the precise details of what you are trying, I may be able to find some time to try it out too - but chances are this is a browser-specific issue in which the TinyMCE is having the issue; and while you can (and IMO should) open a case with HP Support for this, chances are they won't be able to provide a fix... but they might.
