TS Search - bugs, idiosyncrasies, and other annoyances

Environment[indent]TS Search 7.2.1 on Linux[/indent]This is the first time I've spent any significant time trying to work with Search in a long time, and I'm finding a number of "issues" and figured I'd vent here (some of these I've already reported to Support):

If you know of existing bug reports and/or feature requests for the above, post the information here. I may get around to filing the last two - but I want to wait until I have all my actual requirements taken care of first.I'd also be curious to know if anyone has found any of these items fixed / improved in 7.3.1 ...

Considering the issues I have seen keeping ActiveMQ (replacement for event subsystem) running, I would say unlikely. The index does not run very long on my server. Worked on it some, but not a lot. I tried some of the suggestions on other threads but no luck

Search is frighteningly inconsistent and buggy. Aside from the one support case you helped me with about the failure to handle NOT properly with filepaths, I have another case where we have data in the same folder with the metadata field "Expiration Date" filled with dates in the past that Search isn't finding. It finds some of them, but not all of them. No method to the madness.

FYI - the following Support Case were used to file Bugs / Features regarding Search. Since they no longer provide the actual id's of bugs or enhancement requests to their customer's, if you're interested in any of these, you'll have to refer to the case number:

So - yes, I gripe about these things, but I also file them. If you find these particular things annoying, or worse (e.g.: they prevent your organization for actually using Search reliably) - I suggest you contact Support and ask to have your organization added to the list of interested customers for the bugs / feature requests referenced by the above Case numbers.
