Hi,

I want to know how the teamsite will store user's favorites . Is there any physical path to store users added favorites .

Once our teamsite server got down and after it came up all teamsite users favorite files got erased . Can anyone explain how this could happen

Thanks in advance

The "favorites" information is stored in the entity DB files (IWHOME/local/entities/Data/*).

The format of the information depends on the version of TeamSite you are using.

The files in that directory are not intended to be modified manually - but if you feel you need to do so, make a good backup first and then start exploring (a few minutes of testing should show you all you need to know to do it; then it's just a matter of being careful)

Thanks for information ghoti.

I want to know few more information regarding one incident. Our server got crashed suddenly ,and once its back to normal , the favorites info erased for all users. Is there any service will check this entity DB files during initialization of teamsite ? Are there any specific reasons for this situation? Coz we need to make sure this shouldn't happen next time.

if I take this entity DB files backup and retore in same location if incident happen, then will it work?

Once again thanks in advance for your time..

I suggest you contact Support.

(a) you shouldn't be mucking about in the entity database in general

(b) you should be working with them to figure out why your server crashed and what else you should be doing to verify the stability of your system (like iwfsck, etc).

IWSERVER opens the entity DB files and saves them when it is brought down. Maybe something happened there and on startup it emptied the files out because it was concerned they were corrupt.

You cannot restore or change one of those files which teh server is running.
