Rule Engine does not fetch the content from LSCS

Hi All,
We are using Livesite 7.2.1 integrated with Dot Net.
Preview is on IIS 7.5 and Runtime uses IIS 6.

We need to implement targeting based on user navigation on the site(here user is anonymous user). If the user navigate from home page which displays some default images to any product page and when he traverse back to the home page, we need to customizes the home page according to the products page which he navigates to and displays the images accordingly on home page.

SO, i created the ContentType Image and ContentCategory HomeImage in Taxonomy manager and tag the images with this taxonomy and move the images to LSCS. After this i created one action like Get Content Tag with ContentType Image and ContentCategory HomeImage.

Then created the rule which invoke this action when it satisfies the given condition.
Condition is - The First 10 URLs in the visitor's click stream contains products

I also created the targeted component which use the and drop this component on the page and select the desired rule.
But when i preview this page it seems that rule is not executing.

Does anyone work on the similar issue or have any pointer regarding the same.

Are your checking it on runtime environment? Also why all the first 10 URLs in visitor's click stream should contain 'products'. Shouldn't it be like: if any of first 10 URLs in the visitor's click stream contains products, execute the 'rule'?

Also you mentioned that you assigned the content type and category to images. SO when the action fetches the images, how does it know that it has to fetch product specific image vs the default image (assuming both Default image and product images have been tagged with category HomeImage ).

i am checking it on preview as i don't have runtime available right now.
Condition which i mentioned will work in the same way as you mentioned and i also checked it and condition is working as i am getting segmented sitemap for the same condition.

Default images are not tagged with any of the content type . Only product images are tagged with it.

If i am not mistaken, Previewing in Teamsite will actually not have the same URL as it is done through iw-cc/command/iw.group.preview_file. Can you try chnaging your condition to something else (e.g. if the sitename is A then ) and see if it still fails?

this condition works and segment is also activated when we go to sitemap page after viewing the product page but the rule is not getting executed. so condition is correct even in preview

Can you check /opt/Interwoven/TeamSite/local/config/lib/content_center/livesite_customer_src/etc/conf/livesite_customer/content.properties
key named lscs.rules.enabled=true

Have you checked the log file for LSCS. You should find that in c:\Interwoven\LiveSiteCSAuth\log. There should be some information in there.

I have few more questions related to this issue:

1. If I have created action "Get Content Tagged With" in TeamSite, and have some files tagged with the same tags, can I test the rule in TeamSite Preview itself?
2. I read in some documentation that there was a sample component provided by IW "LiveSite>Content>Simple Content List" for targeting in older version. Do we have similar component in 7.2?
3. If there is any issue in this rule execution, what is the log file location to look?

I would add the following debug statements to your LSDS application log4j.xml and then check the log.

You should see the rules getting executed. You can then grab the rules and execute them in the debug panel to see what's happening.

Hi ,
I am able to execute the Rule and set the output xml.
For this i have to drop an external on the component -

ProductRule.rule

com.interwoven.livesite.external.runtime.RulesEngineExternals
executeRules

But now i am facing a problem , rule engine is throwing error if i use Get Content Tagged With action , its giving error Content Type is empty but i have mentioned the Content type in action.
