Which version of centOS is suported by Teamsite?

Hello All,

We have Teamsite 6.7.2 with Livisite 7.0 on Red Hat Linux with CentOS 4.9,
and now we are planning to upgrade it to 7.3.2.

Could you please suggest that is it possible to upgrade the IW 7.3.2 on existing centOS 4.9 or do we need to upgrade OS too.

We are planning to upgrade it to centOS 6.X. Do you see any issues with centOS 6.X.

As I understand CentOS and RHEL follow the same numbering and the release notes say RHEL 6 is supported.

Also, I have 1 more query that we are actually planning to install OS on the same machine/server but in different partition/disk and then we will do fresh installation of 7.3 on it, so in short rather than taking upgrade approach we are planning to migrate the content but not on new hardware but on the same hardware.

Do you foresee any issue/complexity in doing that?

It is typically the right thing to do. However there are some potential issues. First you may have trouble identifying all the customization made to your existing server. Next, you may not be able to install 7.3.1 in the same path as 6.7 (depending on where your iwhome is currently).

Also many people move to virtual machines rather than hard boxes.
