Netscape security model is no longer supported.
Please migrate to the Java 2 security model instead.

Just a thought, are you using Netscape 4.7 to connect to TeamSite from your clients?
Does this same problem happen if you use IE 5.5 or IE 6 to connect to TS?
Lynchy
We are seeing the problem with IE5.5 and IE6.

Do your clients perhaps have the Java 1.4 JDK from sun installed? If so, you might try disabling the java plugin in IE (I believe that the error at the very bottom of the trace is the key).
There seems to have been something that changed in the 1.4 JDK that causes the launchpad applet to break (and also with the 1.3 JDK). Please see:

The launchpad applet requires the MS JVM and will not currently work with the Java plugin JVM that comes with the sun JDK/JRE.

Nacks - I came into post my solution and saw your post. I found that by forcing IE to use Microsoft VM as opposed to the Sun Java Plug-IN that the import functionality works as designed. For Anyone else how sees this post and having the same problem follow these steps to fix issue:
1.)In IE go to Tool --> Internet Options --> Advanced
2.)Scroll Down to the Options for Java(Sun) and deselect selected option
3.)Then Under Microsoft VM select the three available options.
4.)Click OK and restart your PC for the changes to take effect.

We are having a similar problem with TS 5.0.1, SP2 on NT. It occurs with IE 5.5 and IE 6, but Netscape is OK. Our Windows 98 desktops can edit the first file they open, but the LaunchPad applet does not open. If we try to edit a second file, the file never opens. Some of the desktops freeze at this point, others just never open the document.
I set the Microsoft VM settings as suggested here but they didn't work for our setup.
Has anyone seen this or have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Mason,
This is actually a different LaunchPad bug, but it's fixed
in TeamSite 5.0.2_SP1 and TeamSite 5.5.2
There are a couple of options. If possible, upgrade but
if not, try the LaunchPad application which is a Windows
executable instead of an applet. Another option would be
to go to Win2K on your client side which should not have
this issue. If neither one of those
works, support may be able to give you some files that
are pulled from a later release. That one is probably the
least desirable choice.
When you talk to tech support, referece bug 26467.

Thanks Jason. We're taking a look at the different options.
