Can OD 7.3.1 Base talk to a OD 6.2 Receiver?

We are in the process of upgrading TeamSite & OD base to 7.3.1 on a Win 2008 R2 Server. Can this OD 7.3.1 Server talk to our existing OD Receiver which at 6.2 version on a windows 2003 Server?

Check the compatibility guide to be certain, but A/I has tried extremely hard to keep OD interoperatble between versions. The last true incompatibility was in the 5.5->6.X range.

That being said, IIRC, the recommended path was to upgrade receivers first, then sender.

I believe 5.5.1 was where the ACK with version information originated in OD - allowing for both up-rev and down-rev deployments afterwards (starting with 5.5.1 to/from the next version).

It should not matter if you upgrade base or receiver first, but if you upgrade the base first make sure that you do not update any configurations to utilize features that don't yet exist on the receivers until you've upgraded them too.

1. Send a deployment from OD 7.3.1 base to OD 6.2 receiver
2. Send a deployment from OD 6.2 base to OD 7.3.1 receiver

I looked for the compatibility guide on the Autonomy support site per your recommendation, but didn't see one. Do you have any that shows the OD compatibility matrix?

2. Send a deployment from OD 6.2 base to OD 7.3.1 receiver

Neither of those should be an issue, unless scenerio #1 uses a new parameter in the OD config. IIRC, those were mostly in the DNR invocation

Write the deployment with a 6.2 sender and you will be good.

Check the OD Admin manual for more detail then.

I believe your answer is crooked, not straight - OpenDeploy has been doing up-rev and down-rev deployments since 5.5.1
True, that information also used to be included in the Release Notes, but sadly that kind of information seemed to stop getting included there after the Autonomy acquisition of Interwoven...

Which section of which release notes?
There's no mention of other versions of OpenDeploy, at all, in the 7.3 or 7.3.1 Release Notes. Whereas in the 7.1 OpenDeploy Release Notes on pages 21 and 22 it clearly states:[indent]OpenDeploy 7.1.0 supports forward deployment to (down-rev) and from (up-rev) OpenDeploy 7.0.0, 6.2.x, 6.1.x, 6.0.x, 5.6, or 5.5.1 servers[/indent]

Actually it does work...we have both 7.3.1 to 6.0.2 and 6.2 receivers.
