dbmopen || Module issue on 7.2.1 version

Hi,

 

We have moved to teamsite version 7.2.1 from 6.7.2. We are using windows 2008 64-bit OS now.

 

We are seeing a problem while populating modules using "dbmopen" command.

 

When perl version is checked , it is saying "This is perl, v5.8.2 built for MSWin32-x86-multi"

 

While searching in the forum , I found that few perl packages needs to be tweaked and also saw that most of 32-bit apps works on 64-bit.

 

I am new to perl programming. I can understand the code by reading but it has become quite difficulty to crack this.

 

Can someone help me on this ?

Sounds like you have some customizations that aren't part of a "standard" TeamSite build. You're also not providing enough details about the piece you're troubleshooting, so it's difficult to suggest where to start. You should try asking someone within your organization that is familiar with the customizations at least at a functional level, to understand the objective of this particular piece of code.

 

In a nutshell, dbmopen is a low-level utility to connect to a database. You'll have to find out what that database is, and how it was configured on the old system. You'll also want to check if there were any custom perl modules added to your old distribution, as the iwperl shipped with TeamSite has been the same version and has the same modules since circa v6.0.
