Invalid workflow template

Dear All,

I am facing a problem while initiation any workflow which is created in WFT format (Including OOTB workflows).

I am getting the following error:
Invalid Workflow Template:
Couldn't open file /wft/solutions/configurable_author_submit.wft

I am getting the same error for all WFT workflows stating "Couldn't open file *wft file name*"

My environment details:
Teamsite : Interwoven TeamSite 6.7.1 Service Pack 1
OS: Solaris 5.10

I just gone through several forums, I tried re-creating 'workflow' store, but no use. Even iw-home/tmp/cci/ folder exist with required permissions. Entire server re-boot also done.

Additional Info: These workflows were working initially. Due to space issue, iw server frozen once. After that we cleaned some log files to make the disk space. From that point on wards, I am facing this problem.

•Have you verified that the WFT file that it is complaining about actually exists in the path it is looking for?
Yes it is. Here I am referring OOTB workflows. There happens no change in workflow folders or files which got created after installation. Even which was working till last week. Even no change happened in available_templating.cfg

•Have you verified the permissions on the directories leading to the WFT and the WFT itself?
Yes. Even I was suspecting this initially. I compared the permissions with another teamsite server of same version. We Have required permissions as well.

•Have you, or someone there, removed setuid root access to any of the programs in IWHOME/bin and IWHOME/httpd/iw-bin that are supposed to have it?
I checked abt this, after your reply to this thread. No one changed this. As of now the permissions for CLTs are : -r-xr-xr-x 1 root daemon 4408240 Dec 22 2008 iwjobc

•Have you looked through all the various log files to see if any of them provide a more detailed (or slightly different) error information?
This is what the real problem I am facing here. I checked servletd_out.log, access.log, iwtrace.log, iwserver.log, etc. No log is getting updated while getting this error from UI. I tried by checking the time stamp of all logs.

There is a folder in iwhome/tmp called cci

It should have wide open permissions, someone may have deleted it

OK for some reason the WF engine thinks your WFT home is /wft instead of iwhome/local/config/wft

Check /etc/defaultiwhome. You also may fix this by deleting the WF store in iw-store. I forgot how 6.7.1 handles this, but it should be regenerated by the system

Also, you *may* want to run tspostreboot.pl and see if that fixes the issue. But you may need a reinstall instead.

Nipper,

As you mentioned I renamed 'workflow' store and restarted TS services, This created a new 'workflow' store. Even then no use.

But I have not tried executing tspostreboot.pl. Let me try this after reaching office.

Thank you so much for giving various suggestions. Also please let me know, what this line means - 'But you may need a reinstall instead' (From ur reply).

It may require reinstalling TeamSite to fix this properly.

Though you probably should be on the phone with support, so see if they have a solution,

I would also check /etc/iwutil.cfg

If you see this:

path="__IW_LOCAL_CONFIG__/wft/available_templates.cfg"

it is bad

and the util logs in iw-home/local/logs

and see if there is anything of interest there.

I checked this in my first level of investigation itself. It seems fine. Even could not get any log updates w.r.t this error.

My iwutild.cfg has the following snippet:

Hmmm, well I think you have 3 choices:

call support
reinstall TeamSite
make a sym link from /wft to /usr2/iw-home/local/config/wft

Note, number 3 is a bandaid that *might* work but would certianly just mask the symptoms and other issues may be lurking

Hi All,

This issue got fixed now. Seems iwgetlocation.exe file was corrupted.

After moving this file from another server, it got resolved. On tracking eventsubd logs we got some clue.
