Email Sender fields
Hazzie
Hi,
I am having a slight problem with an email task.
I have the following fields populated with data
To
From
Sender
however i am being told by the people who monitor our email logs/traffic that there is an address of postmaster@<server name> being used. I was wondering if there is any additional 'hidden' sender fields that anyone knows about.
Regards,

Have you tried a full-text search from iw-home down. It is a bit brutal but it might find it if it is hidden in a script or config file somewhere....
If this doesn't help, perhaps look at the configuration of your SMTP relay server.

What account owns the task that is sending the email? (is it the same as the From or is it a system account of some sort) - it may be that the sendmail process doesn't recognize the user account that's kicking off the request and substituting in 'postmaster'

The account that owns the email task belongs to the person who started the job. However the account and the from addres are completly different formats. i.e.
Account = <domain>\<user id>
From = <firstname.<surname>
@<
;company name>.co.uk
To any one with microsoft exchange server expereince. Is it likely that if exchange cannot perform a reverse DNS on the server that the mail originated from, a log entry with the from address of postmaster@<originating server> will be created but will still deliver the email to its correctly intended target if the from address is correct?
