TeamSite 7.3.1 Install hostname post install

I've got 2 servers with fresh installations of TeamSite 7.3.1.

On one server the hostname was input as "servername".

One the other server the hostname was input as "servername.domain.com".

The addition of ".domain.com" in the host name caused issues with some existing code, appears in the UI in the TeamSite interface above the list of active stores and in the TeamSite UI file path / address bar. Also in templating and CGI environments on the server with "servername.domain.com" as the hostname, things like "iw_workarea" etc look like //servername.domain.com/default/main etc....

I'm certainly use to //servername/default/main as the expected format but was wondering what other people have in their environment?

I've updated these files to help make the servername.domain.com environment more like the other one where the fully qualified domain name was not used.
iw.cfg
cssdk.cfg
iwutild_client.cfg

After changing "cssdk.cfg" some of the file paths etc are coming back as //servername/default/main etc....

The environments are still different though. I 'm not sure how big a deal it is since they are not different domains or subdomains?

What else can be done to make the environments the same?

I have opened a case with iwov on this. Anyone have experience with this?

Check things like the /etc/hosts files on both servers and the DNS entries - it's possible that one was set up differently than the other prior to the installation, which would explain what happened.

I'll leave it to Support to try to identify all the places you need to "fix" - though something like find IWHOME/.. -type f | xargs grep "hostname.domain might be worth trying on your own...

What happened is that the host name was entered in differently on both servers. When I posted this I was trying to configure way out of it. I did a find etc.. and changed some configs but I can tell the environments will never be exactly the same. The entered host name during the install seems to be baked into a lot of the files that get written out for all products. The good news is that we were able to get it mostly aligned and we're live in production with no issued attributed to this difference between the environments. I have a ticket with support but I don't think they will provide much.
