OpenDeploy Not Starting

Hi All,

Our open deploy services are not starting up, we are able to stop it but not able to start it , we get the below error

in the od,.log files

Details:

We get this when we start the opendeploy

Starting OpenDeploy server.
It may take a few moments. Please wait....
WARNING: The OpenDeploy server is still not responding.
WARNING: Please check the OpenDeploy server log.
WARNING: OpenDeploy might have failed during start up or
         it might still be in the process of starting up.
         Make sure OpenDeploy server successfully
         started up before doing deployments.

Please advice .. as in od.logs we are not able to get any error as such

Your first error tends to happen when OD attempts to bind to the wrong local IP. This can happen if your hosts file maps the your hostname to an incorrect IP.

The second issue is probably a consequence of OD being unstable due to the first thing.

How many different network cards are in the server?

Are you sure that the hostname you are using ("mdc2astra7017") maps correctly to the IP address you expect it to be using?

Try changing the localNode setting in the odbase.xml to be the desired IP address and then try restarting the OD service - if that helps, then it looks like a hosts-file / DNS issue.

Hi,

When ever i start the opendeploy server i am getting this error i am sure i need to add or configure something in the iw-admin.xml but i am able to understand what it needs

I would think that your error message is pretty self-explanatory.. Assuming the service has the proper perms to read the file, then somehow your roles file got corrupted. Rename this file to something like od-admin.bak and restart OD -- it'll create a new database file.
