List of Templates in TS 6.0?
ThrogMI
During our testing of TS 6.0 I've noticed that when you create new content, you get a complete list of all DCTs on the system, not just those available for the current workarea.
Is this a bug, a "feature" or is there something missing in the configuration? We were running 5.5.2 SP3 on the test server which prior to the upgrade to TS 6.0 functioned as expected, i.e. only displayed the templates available in that workarea.

Hi,
This is the deal. We used to do a double check. We first checked the configuration in templating.cfg and then checked that the templatedata directory actually did exists for the branches it was configured for.
As you can imagine, this was an extremely inefficient operation and promoted the templating.cfg file's config to get out of date very quickly. So due to performance reasons and since we want to promote good habits in keeping your config files up to date, we've taken out the second check of making sure that the templatedata directory existed for the DCT that you enabled on each branch.
So you will need to go back to your templating.cfg file and make sure that your configurations are correct. In TS 5.5.2 and before the default templating.cfg file enabled all DCTs for * (all branches). So if you are a TS 5.5.2 customer (or earlier) who is upgrading to TS 6.0, this is one of the first things you should do.
For customers who are doing a fresh install of TS 6.0, you will need to also go in and configure templating.cfg before using FormsPublisher (renamed TeamSIte Templating) as the default OOTB config is to configure DCTs on no branches.

Thanks David. I suspected this might have been the case but it's nice to know for sure!
