Strange Performance Issue
gwen1
Over the past weekend, we upgraded to TS 5.5.2 sp2 in production. Have encountered a very strange performance issue.
A few users experience slow response times when opening files, starting workflows, etc.,
after
a file has been imported.
* Another user can log into TeamSite on the affected person's pc, follow same steps and not experience a slowness.
* An affected user can log into TeamSite on another PC and not see the issue.
* No unusual errors in the TS log files.
* Planning to have a network sniffer put on PC, but this doesn't seem to be a network slowness.
* Prior to file import all is well.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Or have suggestions?
System Information:
Solaris 8
TeamSite 5.5.2 sp2
Templating 5.5.2 sp2
NT 4
IE 5.5 sp 2
webdesk pro [users are editors]
Thanks,
Gwen

What version of Java are you using on the client machines? Presumably the default Microsoft VM, but I suppose it's worth asking..

From cmd promt on workstations, java -version shows Java 1.3.1_01. Broswer has the Microsoft JVM selected.

Have now been able to reproduce the slowness on another user's PC with affected user logging into TeamSite. (But this seems to be inconsistent.)

Could you tail --f the TeamSite apache access log while try to reproduce the problem?
If you can do that, this would tell you it is indeed a server slowness or some other client JVM issues.
