error while setting email for iwts user

Hi All,

I'm trying to set email for iwts user using below clt command.

./iwuseradm set-email iwts

but it is failing with the below error
ERROR:02445: Attribute is not modifiable

Can any one let me know how to make this attribute modifiable or how to achieve this..

OS: Solaris 10
TeamSite version: 7.2.1

Who are you running the command as?
I cannot say I've ever tried doing the email setting via the command line - you should be able to do it via either Actions > Manage Users or through the TS Admin UI (Users tab)

I don't think you can do this, because this is a special/reserved user. It's implicitly a TS user but not quite. Same with 'SYSTEM' on a windows box, it's recognized as a TS user but attempting to set an email address for it using the same CLT is giving me the same error you're seeing.

Sigh - I didn't look closely enough at the original post - yeah, "iwts" is not a "user" - it's a system account - why worry about its email address? Nobody should ever be able to login with that userid; that userid should never own any tasks in a workflow; so it should never get any email.

As per requirements we need this.. We are able to achieve this for already existing servers but in new servers its failing..

What I've observed is if we are directly updating in tsusers.xml then email is getting updated but editing tsusers.xml directly is a bad practice.. So wanted to check is there any other way..

Editing tsusers.xml directly is bad practice for anyone who's not careful and knowledgeable about XML syntax. I do it quite frequently for various reasons. If it works, do it - just keep a backup copy in case you mess something up.
