Using existing APIs for TeamSIte/LiveSite based web application

We have some API ( REST, JSON ) developed already for our Mobile initiative and we want to use the same APIs for our teamsite based web development. How can we utilize these APIs to aid dynamically rendering the templates inside LiveSite ?

The generic answer is you can either write front-end JavaScript to interact with those, or you can write Java externals to interact with those, optionally by wrapping them in a service object for extra modularity.

If you need direction beyond the above, you'll have to be more specific in your question.

Er.. well the first approach has nothing to do with the HP platform, so find yourself a javascript framework you like and use it? The second has a whole chapter for externals in the SiteDeveloper guide.
