.Net without LSDS

Hi,

Is it possible to use SitePublisher components on .Net without using LSDS in the runtime? I know in Java world, Taglibs can be used to accomplish the same. Please let me know if anyone knows or has attempted something like this before? We are trying it with 7.3.1 version of TeamSite thats supposed to have full .Net support.
