Hi,

I am working on changing the domain name for the TeamSite users. I have changed the domain names for few users and tested the user id's by invoking the workflows. The user id's with the old domain names has been deleetd from the system and TeamSite as well. The new domain name users are having the "od-admin" and "od-user" roles.

Publishing is failing with the below error:

API: Can not find user <username> in any OpenDeploy roles . Request app: APP_ODRMICLT

Basically, it is taking the old domain name when invoking the workflow. To check that i have searched all the files under IWHOME and found out that the below file is having both the references of old domain name and also the new domain name.

IWHOME\local\entities\Index

I have deleted the old domain name from the index file and tried to publish. But again the file is getting updated with the old domain name.

I am not sure from where the old domain name is getting updated. Thanks for the help.

OpenDeploy roles are maintained separately from TeamSite.

You need to use the either the OpenDeploy Admin UI to remove the old and add the new, or use the iwodauthorize CLT to do it.

Alternatively, if you just want to grant all users the ability to run all deployments, you can also do it through the TeamSite Admin UI / Manage Users - by going through each "new" user and checking the box that says they can run all deployments.

For TeamSite - you should probably also use iwidmap to map the user's with the old domain name to the user's with the new domain name.

Thanks for the reply. Earlier itself, I have used the OpenDeploy Admin UI to remove the old domain name and add the new domain name.
Also in the TeamSite Admin UI, i have granted the access to all deployments and deployment functions for the new domain name user.

I have tried iwidmap also to map the old domain name to the new one. But no luck. Do we need to restart the TeamSite services after doing the iwidmap?
However i have restarted the TeamSite services.

Hence i suspected the file "IWHOME\local\entities\Index" as it is the only file having the reference with the old domain name.
So wanted to know how it is getting updated with the old domain name. From Some old references, it is taking the old domain user name and trying to publish the file instead of taking the new domain name.

My 2 cents :

After doing iwidmap, you need to deactivate the store using iwstoreadm -d <store name>

then, activate the store back with iwstoreadm -a <store name>

The old domain names could be in use within groups - If TeamSite groups are used, then look in IWHOME/conf/tsgroups.xml or through the Admin UI / Manage Groups interface. If OS groups you need to look at wherever the groups are defined.

It is also possible that names / domains were hard-coded within scripts and workflows.

Hi Fish,

I have updated the files "tsgroups.xml" and "tsusers.xml" with the new domain names earlier itself.
There is no names/domains are hard-coded within scripts and workflows.

When you initiate a workflow, go to the server and run iwgetwfobj -r jobid > somefile.xml

Then go through that output carefully to see where, if at all, the old-domain information exists.

Also try running iwodauthorize -r list od-admin > od_admins.txt and iwodauthorize -r list od-user > od_users.txt and carefully check that output for references to the old domain.

Hi Fish,

I ran the cmd "iwgetwfobj" for the job id and saw the output. Only the new domain name is present in the output. There is no references for the old domain name.

Also tried the "iwodauthorize" for both od-admin and od-user, there is only new domain name present in the output.

Well it would seem the "systems" are okay - the next question is what are you using to perform the deployment in the workflow?

Is that a Perl script or a Java program? If the latter, is it OOTB or custom?

You can probably use iwuseradm or iwuser to clear out the old entries in the entities database, but I don't think that's the source of your problem.

We are using the custom Perl script for performing the deployment.
In Perl script also, we are not hard coding any domain name or user id.

I have moved the "entities" folder and restarted the TeamSite services. Then the old domain user id has been removed from the index file.
Right now, it is having only the new domain user name.

Does it work now? If so, I guess you validated that the problem was in the entities db (though it still seems unlikely to me)

If it still fails - you need to do more digging into that script (i.e.: does it read user information from some configuration file, etc.) - though if the task is owned by the correct user (one with the new domain) - it should have worked just fine. (I am assuming that all your testing has been done with newly run jobs, and not pre-existing jobs that were looping back because of the deployment failure)

Note: By moving the entire entities folder you will have effectively removed all existing user's "favorites" and last location information - but since you're changing the domain for the users that information would have been lost anyway.

Workflow is not working although the old domain user name removed from the index file.
I have done the detailed analysis on the ipl script and there is no user information mentioned in the ipl file as well as the configuration files.

Moreover i am doing the workflow testing by invoking the new jobs and not using any pre-existing jobs.

It sounds like you either missed finding something, or you're looking to solve the wrong issue.

In the <username>, it is taking the old domain user name and tries to publish the file in the workflow.
