PDF to thumbnail image

Can anyone recommend a good pdf to thumbnail image perl module? We tried installing Image-Magick-Thumbnail-PDF-1.13 and its dependencies but found they require a minimum of Perl 5.8.3. The version bundled with TS 7.3.1 is 5.8.2. Thanks.

We had the same requirement, and we went with MediaBin.

1) Import the PFG doc to MediaBin. (Use Perl Soap to connect, we used Java)
2) Generate preview from MediaBin.
3) Write images to the required size.

I've also tried JPedal and that works too. But not sure if that would work with perl
