Teamsite Search across all metadata fields

I have a user requirement to enhance the search across all metadata fields.
I have been doing the reading and understand the customization of search_custom and fieldmapping xml files.

1. I edited Search_custom.xml

<extended-attribute id="TeamSite/Metadata/all" label="All"/>

2. I edited FieldMapping.xml

<fieldSpecification>
<fieldName>TeamSite/Metadata/all</fieldName>
<fieldType>string</fieldType>
<fieldStorage>EAField1,EAField2,EAField3</fieldStorage>
</fieldSpecification>

Can any one confirm Is it possible to map multiple Ea-fields to an extended attribute in search ?

I don't believe you can do that.
The search_custom.xml file provides for the drop-down menus in the EA search section, the FieldMapping.xml requires that you define each and every EA you want to index, including their type.

Note - EAs of String type only allow you to search for "All Words" and does "fuzzy" matching - so it's not very good for IDs that are string-oriented (e.g.: "X74J3")

There are a number of other issues with Search which I recently posted about that you might want to look at before trying to do too much with it...

Just read few post and i've got an idea, it's not feasible to customize the search UI much as per my requirement.

Can you please confirm , below requirement is feasible or not.

1) When search is based on 'current folder', display path or name of folder
2) Metadata search is currently limited to option of 'all words' provide other options ( " Exact Pharse" , " Without " , "At Least One Word") in drop-down .
