workarea creation
manish_rathi
I created a new workarea "test" in TeamSite.
When I create a workarea "test" under WORKAREA, same "test" folder it will automatically be created in STAGING, is that right ? If not, what do I need to do to get test folder in STAGING ?
There was nothing in this test workarea. But somehow some content folders showed up in this test workarea(folder1, folder2).
So now structure becomes as //servername/default/main/Sandbox/WORKAREA/test/folder1, folder2
So folder1 and folder2 automatically appear in test.
So from where did this folder come from ?
When I checked STAGING, these folders were there. Structure in STAGING is
//servername/default/main/Sandbox/STAGING/folder1, folder2
It looks, folder1 and folder2 are comig from STAGING. But how can they be moved from STAGING without any action ? Why is there no "test" folder in STAGING ?

You really need some training
If you create something in workarea it does not show up in staging until it is submitted.
Changes in the staging get pushed to the workarea by doing a get latest (or in remote circumstances a workflow update task).
Find a users manual and start reading.

I understand that files come in STAGING only after submission from WA.
When I created a new WA, files from STAGING are showing up in that WA without doing any Get Latest operation. So I am confused, how come files comeup in WA like that ? So I was trying to get things cleared from scratch.
Please let me know, when I create a WA, will files automatically show up from STAGING ?
Thanks

When you create a workarea it asks you what to start with a baseline (which edition, Initial, latest, etc), probably used latest edition
