Database Migration For Media Bin

Hi

Currently we are using SQL server 2005 with MediaBin. We need to migrate to SQL server 2008. Our assumption for this process is following steps :

Take a backup of existing DB
Replace the DB
Upload the backup data.

But normally its never as simple as it looks.

Can someone please let us know if these are the steps involved or do we need to do something else for this.

Hi,
You are right in your approach. Please make sure that you are taking the backup of DB before proceeding.I do remember that we received one instruction sheet from autonomy as our DB was too heavy but that was near about 2-3years back. You can also touch them before starting to be on the safer side. Thanks.

The steps that you have mentioned are correct. There would be some additional modifications that you would have to do only if you are upgrading server/migrating content to a different server.
