Templating on Unix
System
Hi,
I have templates on the NT box and I want to move them to the Unix box. Can anyone let me know a list of things to take care while doing that? What are the changes i need to make to the PTs/datacaptures while doing so? Any cfg file changes?
Thanks,
Abhilash

A few things to consider:
- You may need to update your templating.cfg file
- Check all templates and associated scripts for Windows specific things like backslashes instead of forward slashes in file paths, regular expressions etc.
- Check for any references to Y: drives
- Check for references to .exe or .bat calls
- It is best to ensure that you don't have Windows CR/LF characters in any of your files. When you view them in vi you shouldn't have those ^M characters.
Good luck and I hope this helps.

Thanks for the help Michael, although you mentioned about Y: , do I need to do anything specific? like assigning it to a variable or something?
Thnx,

Not quite sure what you mean sorry.
However, on your unix TeamSite server you won't have a Y: drive. Your content will generally be located using a path such as /iwmnt/StoreName/main/Branch....

becareful with the definition of the doc_root in the iw.cfg for templating and the case of the folder that holds the templatedata files.
also if you are doing anything like iwpt_output or reading external dcrs - filenames will be case sensitive.

Thanks.... but is anyone aware of any specific errors when generating pages or running scripts to read the dcrs?
Thanks,....
