Regular expression in Vanity URL

Hello,

As per business requirement have create some alias/vanity URL using sitemap.

Business wants vanity URLs to be not case sensitive

Example : www.abc.com/Test - is vanity URL provided by business

if an user try to hit www.abc.com/test or www.abc.com/TEST etc the also it should be valid.

Any ideas..please let me know.

if I understood correctly then you want www.abc.com/Test and www.abc.com/TEST to land on one common page.
Put "test" and "TEST" both in the alias list so that both will land you to the same page.
Now I dont expect end user to type test as TeSt?

Instead of adding multiple alias's would like have a regular expression which typically covers all the cases like

www.abc.com/Test
www.abc.com/TEST
www.abc.com/TeSt
www.abc.com/TesT... etc

I don't know why end users will type anything other than upper or lower case but if its your business need then either you make them understand or you do.
One of the possible solution is with the mod-rewrite in your webserver(IIS or Apache).
There is nothing OOTB if you plan to go with Vanity URLs.

We are trying to minimize the errors (404) bad URL request's ..
with mod-rewrite options any new vanity URL server need to be restarted (IIS or Apache).

You didn't say - but are your web servers hosted on Windows or Unix servers?
I believe that Windows servers evaluated URLs in a case-insenstive manner whereas Unix servers evaluate the domain as case-insensitvie but pages are case-sensitive - i.e.:

www.google.com

and

www.GooGLe.com

both work just fine, but

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=nl

works, whereas

http://maps.google.com/Maps?hl=en&tab=nl

does not.

Clearly, it's best to have a solution that will work on either platform (just in case you are running on Windows now but someone decides to switch to using Unix later).
