How Is iwpt_compile Called From CCPro?

Hi:

When I click Generate on a content item from within CCPro, choose a presentation template, filename and destination, I know iwpt_compile is eventually called. Can someone identify which location and file(s) process this request? I'd like to see how TeamSite steps through it. Thanks.

It actually doesn't call iwpt_compile at all. The presentation calls a piece of Java code which eventually hooks into some TeamSite: Smiley Tongue TParser perl modules, and the iwpt_compile calls the same code (eventually).

What are you hoping to achieve? It sounds like you're going about it the wrong way.

The quest is purely academic. I'd like to be able to step through the process much the same way I can follow a workflow from end to end using WFTs, .ipl files, workflow-group-mapping.xml, etc.

In that case, might I suggest you focus your academic activities on learning the new stuff? WFT, IPL and TPL are all "legacy" technologies Smiley Tongue

In that case, I'm not sure anybody here can say exactly how 6.5 used to work because that was so long ago.. at least not to the level of detail you're looking for. A lot of the innards of the product have changed since then.
