UI Customization Not Taking On Production Sever?

Hello,

We've customized the work in progress portlet in CCSTD on TS 7.3.1.

We had an issue in IE so we made adjustments to the column widths on the dev server and it fixed the issue. We then made the change to the same configuration on the production server and ran the make_toolkit.ipl. This time it did not work.

We then performed the -clobber and -install operations that still no luck. We've done a diff of the configurations, CSS etc and everything is the same. Its not browser cache or something like that.

We're stumped. Any suggestions?

What files were you changing ?

I assume you know this, but I have seen cases where people make a backup of the XML files and when they rebuild the GUI, both the original and the updated copy are read, producing unpredictable results.

I'm changing

/iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src/etc/conf/customer/ui_custom.xml

there are no backups?

run this command:

locate ui_custom.xml

do an ls -l for all of those files.

Check the permissions on each

I'm on Solaris so I don't think I have a locate command.

Here is the permissions on that file.

Use find then, there are copies of that file made to other folders. If one did not get updated, then you may see an issue like this.

There are other copies of the file. Its interesting on both dev and prod servers the /TeamSite/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src_new/etc/conf/customer/ui_custom.xml files have a really old data stamp.

BUT in /Interwoven/ApplicationContainer/server/default/deploy/iw-cc.war/WEB-INF/conf/customer/ui_custom.xml

The files have the newer date stamp?

Don't worry about customer_src_new

There should be a couple in ApplicationContainer. Edit them and verify your changes are there, but it seems they are
