Copy with same DocID

We are assigning an auto generated ID to a DCR in TS. If I copy this DCR and create another instance in same WA, will this auto generated ID remain same ? If I want to copy and get a new ID for this file, is it possible OOTB OR do I need to write some customized code ?

By default, the copy operation in TeamSite will also copy that file's extended attributes. So yes, it sounds like you'll have to add some logic in your custom code to handle this situation.
