Dear All,

I need your help to provide some optimal ideas on Folder rename migration activity.
We have created thousands of .pages and DCRs in our website. Business would like to migrate to different folder structure with different names.
By changing name of the folders will definitely would be high risk and impact to prod sites, all d filenames has a dependency on d folder name. Even components in sitepub requires modification.

Have anyone done this of migration?
Any optimal solution to implement this migration without production downtime?

Are you renaming the folders inside your site or you have to rename your asset folders as well?

If only .page file, you will have to parse corresponding DCRs(assuming only DCRs hold the content) and modify the URLs using perl regular expressions. but if you are changing the location of assets as well you will modify them as well through scripts.

Why would you need to modify the components? Content location should have nothing to do with components.
This can be done without any downtime by deploying only the new folder and by NOT deploying old content before production switch. After making new folder location Live, you can deploy deleted folder.
