external task is not starting

When I run a workflow, following job specification file is created. On start of job, control goes to Approver, upon approving it sh'd trigger external task ad run the script. But thats not happening. I am getting message "Task has been completed, but next task is not started. You can take back the task if you need to make changes". Screenshot is attached herewith.

Why is that ? I can not find any error. How to solve this issue ?

Why is that ? I can not find any error. How to solve this issue ?

Without seeing the code of the program being run by the externaltask, once can only guess, but my guess would be that you're not doing a callback to the workflow, or doing it in an incorrect manner such that the next task never gets activated.

The code you posted has a number of issues, but the primary one in regards to this thread is that nowhere do you seem to define $task or initialize $task, so statements like:

$task->CallBack(0, "Completed Deploy Process");

wont work - in fact, it should error out.

I suggest running iwperl -w -c on your script, because what you posted is just plain broken.

ERROR:00920: Object being looked up was not found It looks like workflow job is not available. But I already have taskID and I am not looking for jobID. SO why am I getting this error ? WHat does it mean by Task 0 does not exist ? $task -> CallBack(0,"comment"), should call the first one in successorset. Then why is it Task 0 error here ?

Your Job/Task Objects instantiation is incorrect. Unlike CGI Task, External Task parameters are not posted.
They are passed as a command Line parameters. So:
