Invalidate Runtime Cache Interwoven code

Hi,

On teamsite, when the 'Invalidate runtime cache' is triggered, I need to know the path of the interwoven custom code that gets executed behind the scenes.

Below will help you to clear your doubts:

LiveSite invalidate runtime cache allows you to flush only those sites or pages which need to be flushed in LiveSite runtime. In general, it will write a file that will be deployed to the runtime, which will read the file and refresh the selected sites or pages.

The detail steps of "Invalidate Runtime Cache" are:
1. TeamSite will write a couple of files to temp dir, which is /tmp by default. The file that gets written is cache.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX where the X's are digits. It is a unique ID that changes every time. Also written are files filelist.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX and cachelist.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX which are somehow used by OpenDeploy to deploy the cache.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX file.

2. OpenDeploy get called by invoking the iwodstart script in LiveSite Java code and do a file-list deployment. The settings for this OD call are stored in /local/config/wft/solutions/wft_livesite_opendeploy.cfg The file, cache.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, should be deployed under $LiveSite_enduser/sites

3. LiveSite runtime will check the cache file every 30 seconds. Once it finds cache file(s), LiveSite runtime will refresh the selected sites and/or pages then delete the cache file(s).

Note:
The cache file entries should be of the format of the vpath relative to the workarea.Something like:

sites/mysite/mypage.page

The slash can be either way. You can have sites/default.site as well this will clear the cache for the whole site.

Thanks. Your reply is very helpful. I found cache.Webroot.XXXXXX file which has a filelist of the pages in the format you mentioned. It gets created with every deployment or when PLC is triggered on the pages.
I just need to ask about the listener on the filelist deployment folder. Can i modify the listener code? Is it easy or complex?

Enable the logging to DEBUG mode in log4j.xml. This would give you an idea what happens behind the scenes. Is there anything specific you are looking for?
You can verify config files and see the related classes in the jars. You will have to decompile them first.

I need to look at the specific listener or 'Invalidation Monitor' code which flushes the cache after a specific time interval say 30 secs. I need to see if i can tweak in some of my code there. This is specifically since i want to leverage the interwoven cache for caching sitemap at my end and only upon sitemap update, the components should refer the updated cache for sitemap.
I am looking at not building a custom caching framework but to explore how i can utilise the interwoven caching itself with some changes.
