TeamSite file browser using CSSDK

I am currently developing an internal tool using CSSDK in JAVA, for reducing the manual processes involved in using TeamSite (like File Comparison, etc)

For the filepath, the user needs to enter the path manually like /store/branch/placeholder/area/filepath

I would like to have a TeamSite file browser functionality using CSSDK. Can anyone provide some tips?

Your question is a bit too ambiguous.. I guess the only thing I can say is if you're building a menu item in TeamSite, you can usually infer the branch+workarea from the context rather than having to explicitly ask the user for it. Aside from that, you might have to just start hacking away at code and ask more pointed questions when they come up.

Apologies for the much delayed reply.

I want to implement the browse folder functionality, as we do in the TeamSite url.

I have implemented the same last week, using the below piece of code, to get the folders present in each path:

try{
   CSDirImpl filename = (CSDirImpl)client.getFile(path);
   CSNode[] childBranches = filename.getChildren();
   for(CSNode branch: childBranches){
       if(branch.getKind() == 2){
           folderList.add(branch.getVPath().toString());
       }
   }
}

In the above piece of code, client is CSClient while the path is CSVPath.

The CSNode returns all child nodes. As I want only the folders, I have used a filter getKind == 2.

I have repeated the same procedure on click of individual folders to get its child.

If anyone has a better solution, please feel free to provide the same.

You might want to try something like:

CSDir dir = (CSDir)client.getFile(CSVPath(path));
CSSortKey[] sortArray = new CSSortKey[1];
sortArray[0] = new CSSortKey(CSSortKey.NAME, true);
CSIterator files = dir.getFiles(CSFileKindMask.DIR, sortArray, CSFileKindMask.DIR, null, 0, -1);
for (...) {
    ...
}

CSDir dir = (CSDir)client.getFile(CSVPath(path));
CSSortKey[] sortArray = new CSSortKey[1];
sortArray[0] = new CSSortKey(CSSortKey.NAME, true);
CSIterator files = dir.getFiles(CSFileKindMask.DIR, sortArray, CSFileKindMask.DIR, null, 0, -1, true);
for (...) {
    ...
}

The first I believe does not recurse, the second one should - I'm not 100% positive about the arguments for getFiles() because this is basically taken from an example in the CSSDK JavaDocs, but neither of the examples seemed to have the correct number of arguments (I inserted the second CSFileKindMask.DIR as it seemed to be needed by the parameter list for the method)
